Draft pending legal review. This text describes how Proofly works today, but nobody responsible has approved it yet. The sections marked as pending are deliberately left unwritten.

What cookies are

They're small files that a website stores in your browser. Some are essential for the site to work; others only serve to measure how it's used.

Necessary cookies

These are the ones that keep you signed in. Without them you couldn't get into your history: you'd have to identify yourself again on every screen. They can't be switched off because the service doesn't work without them, and they're not used to measure anything.

  • Source: Supabase, the provider that handles sign-in.
  • Purpose: keeping you signed in.
  • Duration: they are persistent cookies —they're stored in your browser so you don't have to identify yourself on every visit— and they're removed when you sign out or when they expire (400 days at most).

Analytics cookies

They help us understand how Proofly is used and improve it: how many people come in, which screens are used most. They are OPTIONAL and are only switched on if you accept them.

  • Source: Google Analytics.
  • Purpose: measuring use of the application in aggregate.
  • What it does NOT receive: the content of your entries, your projects, the people involved or your screenshots.
  • Duration: «_ga» and «_ga_<identifier>» expire 2 years after your last visit (some browsers cap that maximum at around 13 months).

How to change your decision

The first time you come in you can accept or reject analytics cookies. If you reject them, they are not loaded.

Your decision is remembered for six months. After that —or if you clear your browser data— you'll be asked again.

You can also manage or delete cookies from your browser settings. If you delete the necessary ones, you'll be signed out.

We use analytics cookies to understand how Proofly is used and improve the product. We never send Google Analytics the content of your entries, projects, people involved or screenshots. Cookie policy
